Cansei de Ser Sexy
Posting action has been a little quiet since last week’s epic post (well epic for a tumblelog at least) on territorial invasions of social networking space. There are many reasons for this lack of work, including a slow recovery from the aforementioned post but the main one is - layout.
I have been mucking around with the Tumblr stylesheet to improve the appearance of the Social Space Station. While simultaneously adhering to the Tumblelog character.
This involves writing CSS.
CSS (cascading style sheets) allow for full control of any object on a page and is real nice and all but man it’s time consuming. I have learnt a lot and the stylesheet for the Station is still a little manky. Overall though, I think the current design is elegant and minimal (feel free to disagree).
There is still a little more work to do such as rounded corners on content blocks (mandatory in the age of Web 2.0), a few more badges, straightening up lines, doing something with the footer (?), aligning navigation links (i.e., to previous pages), and maybe adding an archive.
I am happy to take any aesthetic comments and CSS suggestions.
