Nice things

The Station is busy changing its orbit so here’s some nice things out there in social space:

An article at stuff.co.nz discussing the popularity of social networking. Naturally the current big three are mentioned.

Creative Commons has opened shop in New Zealand. Russell Brown and Andrew Dubber have released a discussion document called ‘We’re All In This Together’ on changes to media and broadcasting thanks to the digital revolution.

Meanwhile, over at Mashable, there is a post on a new currency launching in SecondLife and another post on a service called CommentAnywhere which seeks to take content sharing to the next level. While we’re on Facebook, here’s this post about merging Facebook apps with SecondLife and something on internal linking which is explained and dissed.

Techcrunch reports that MySpace are introducing casual-interactive gaming for punters (good idea to combat Facebook’s diversions and popularity) and StumbleUpon is expanding into search (stumbling works judging by the traffic this stumbled Station post generated).

Metaversed tackles the question of what is a virtual world exactly and Social Media briefly discusses the new MySpace reality show - Roommates.

And finally, a nice performance from Amy Winehouse of Sam Cooke’s Cupid at Glastonbury this year (c/o YouTube):
