Facebook is king! - well at least in the UK

Here is an interesting slide show (c/o AoIR) on Facebook usage related statistics in the UK by Human Capital. It’s called “The Facebook Face-off - An Empirical Analysis” which uncovers some interesting results derived from Nielsen/Netrating data. The approach is to test a range of hypotheses (e.g., Facebook is used predominantly by young undergraduates) against this data and then explain them with pretty visualisations.

Their analysis reveals that Facebook is the most popular social networking site in the UK except for the very young (who unsurprisingly prefer Bebo) and the older and male (who prefer MySpace). Based on page views alone, Facebook is the third most popular Website.
