I live away from the student areas. This is a good thing if you look at the footage contained in this clip (c/o YouTube).
For the last couple of years, Canterbury University students (based in Christchurch) - engineers no less make the pilgrimage to Dunedin in … ah … vehicles that cost under $500. The event is wittily called the “Undy 500” and typically brings mayhem of the kind shown in the clip to North Dunedin.
NB: North Dunedin is usually very quiet and uneventful.
